Distributed computing has become progressively mainstream since it offers clients the hallucination of having boundless registering assets, of which they can use as much as they need, without agonizing over how those assets are given. It likewise gives more noteworthy adaptability, accessibility, and dependability than clients could accomplish with their own asset The center property in distributed computing that held registering in the cloud; for lucidity, the treatment procedure (and related information) isn't bound to the spot (places) private and obscure. Accordingly, this model is the direct opposite of the treatment procedure is situated in at least one of the servers are notable. Introduction model haze of analysis and assault due to security advocates, for the simplicity of enormous administering the facilitating organizations for administrations cloud, and afterward, can force restriction and mastery, regardless of whether lawful or unlawful, the correspondence procedure jus t as the information put away in the middle of the client and the host organization Presentation Distributed computing has become an omnipresent term and to a great extent talked about point in the worldwide data innovation (IT) world. Distributed computing has changed drastically the manners by which associations and people impart, work together and register. The idea of distributed computing guarantees a costââ¬effective change of utility figuring rule that permits clients and suppliers a helpful access to assets in a self-administration and ââ¬Ëpay as you go fashionââ¬â¢. Thus, distributed computing has diminished the expense related with framework organization just as supported in improving asset use and bookkeeping. Since most recent couple of years, distributed computing has brought about various positive effects on the IT environment, in this way offering ascend to new markets and generally dissipated new client networks (European Commission, 2012). Logically, the idea of distributed computing is the result of the direct mechanical needs to upgrade asset use without mediating purchaser necessities. As it were, the idea guarantees the utilization of the accessible assets in increasingly effective way (European Commission, 2012). The paper expects to basically inspect the chances and the dangers related with distributed computing and makes a substantial determination on its selection by associations. Distributed computing: Definition, Models and Services Distributed computing was at first utilized in a scholastic point of view by Prof. Kenneth K Chellapa who delineated it in 1997 at the Informs Conference in Dallas as ââ¬Å"a registering worldview where the limits of figuring will be dictated by financial method of reasoning as opposed to specialized limitsâ⬠(Petri, 2010). There are different meanings of distributed computing anyway the most suitable and comprehensively acknowledged definition is being given by North America National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST). As per NIST, ââ¬Å"Cloud Computing is a model for empowering helpful, on request organize access to a common pool of configurable figuring assets that can be quickly provisioned and discharged with negligible administration exertion to specialist co-op interactionâ⬠(Petri, 2010). There are many distributed computing models for business purposes including: Public Cloud: Public cloud model is given by merchants and can be gotten to over the web o r private system. At least one server farms are utilized by this model which is shared by various clients (Weitz, 2010). Private Cloud: Private cloud model is overseen and utilized inside by the associations which uses ââ¬Ëshared administrations modelââ¬â¢ and makes variable use of virtualized processing assets. The information put away in the model are overseen inside the association (Weitz, 2010). Half and half Cloud: As the name proposes, the cross breed model is the blend of open cloud administrations and private cloud engineering. The model is intended to meet certain particular needs of clients (Weitz, 2010). Network Cloud: Community cloud model is utilized over the associations having comparable prerequisites and targets. Network cloud model is built up utilizing open cloud benefits so as to guarantee cooperation among the organizations (Weitz, 2010). Distributed computing Services Distributed computing administrations are given generally in the accompanying manners: Software-as-a-Service (SaaS): Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) has been operational in the market since numerous years. As of now, organizations are increasingly keen on moving permitting programming to buy in administrations especially based on per client and every month among others (Weitz, 2010). Stage as-a-Service (PaaS): Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) incorporates advancement of such condition that permits designers to construct programming applications that can be offered as administrations to clients or to general clients (Weitz, 2010). Framework as-a-Service (IaaS): Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) gives clients or clients stockpiling, arrange and different basic asset prerequisites so as to run subjective applications (Weitz, 2010). Writing Review As per Etro (2009), distributed computing is an as of late developed web based innovation that stores enormous data in servers and gives that data as administrations on request to customers. In like manner, its effect is tremendous on the two purchasers and organizations. Moreover, he expressed that purchasers can get to every one of their reports and information from any gadgets, for example, PCs, cell phones and tablets while the organizations can lease equipment and programming from the specialist co-ops and pay as they utilize the administrations like different administrations benefited by the organizations, for example, power (Etro, 2009). Petri (2010) proposes that, distributed computing is one of the most talked about IT advancements over the most recent couple of years. Thus, hazard the board is the most basic region which draws a genuine consideration. He underscored that future is moderately dubious when partner distributed computing with security factor. He basically brings up that cloud sellers ought to rapidly address the security and other related worries for guaranteeing better consumer loyalty (Petri, 2010). As indicated by Bein, Bein Madiraju (2010), distributed computing is another worldview of registering that has advanced in the on going occasions as a costly route for giving stockpiling and programming. They further focused on that numerous organizations are pushing forward with an expectation to make distributed computing simple to utilize. They pushed that there are immense potential for customers to misuse the distributed computing innovation (Bein, Bein Madiraju, 2010). As per Gartner Inc (2012), consistent observing of distributed computing advances and normal updates to the enterprisesââ¬â¢ cloud systems are important to forestall any cost related mistakes for the resulting hardly any years. It additionally expressed that distributed computing innovation will have noteworthy effect fair and square of its selection over some undefined time frame (Gartner Inc, 2012) According to Pokhriyal (2012), distributed computing would contribute towards expanding complexities identifying with information stockpiling and clients access to applications just as other as often as possible led forms. She additionally expressed that danger of presentation of basic information is more with the utilization of distributed computing innovation. She upheld that business firms may likewise observe security penetrates and hacking that will make the distributed storage generally insufficient and wasteful (Pokhriyal, 2012). As per Willcocks, Venters, Whitey (2011), distributed computing innovation is changing the methods of IT business benefits as far as information conveying and overseeing. As needs be, distributed computing has heightened the significance of conveying compelling administrations and therefore the IT and business benefits desperately need to raise the degree of administration competency and should concentrate on the accessibility of value administrations to meet the client desires (Willocks, Venters, Whitley, 2011). In the expressions of Horwath, Chan, Leung, Pili (2012), distributed computing can possibly acquire certain intense changes the associations as saw if there should arise an occurrence of the web during the most recent decade of the twentieth century. They underlined that by applying distributed computing innovation without legitimate consideration and due-tirelessness may bring about unexpected issues. Thus, officials must know about dangers and different issues of distributed computing so as to determine critical advantages out of the offered types of assistance (Horwath, Chan, Leung, Pili, 2012). As per Santos, Gummadi, Rodrigues (2012), distributed computing empowers associations to reduce expenses related with asset stockpiling, organize transfer speed and other significant information. Nonetheless, they contended that worries about the protection, classification and honesty of the information and calculation can be viewed as the significant hindrances for those associations which are anticipating grasp distributed computing (Santos, Gummadi, Rodrigues, 2012). As indicated by Hinchcliffe (2009), distributed computing will change IT business situation by an enormous degree and it should adjust between the dangers and the advantages related with distributed computing models. In this manner, he calls attention to certain significant dangers related with such changes including security of hierarchical information that is put away in the cloud, loss of command over cloud assets and unwavering quality factor. He likewise expressed that the productive utilization of clou Nhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11671378235865057915noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1014777798006129712.post-89717707535902526872020-08-22T05:23:00.001-07:002020-08-22T05:23:15.265-07:00Macbeth A Great Man Torn Apart By Vaulting Ambition Essay Example For StudentsMacbeth A Great Man Torn Apart By Vaulting Ambition Essay William Shakespeare, a famous writer, composed various moving plays, for example, Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet. He composed numerous plays in the Elizabethan period yet composed Macbeth when King James I went ahead the seat (Jacobean time). Macbeth is an extraordinary man destroyed by vaulting aspiration. Three witches, a notion of the time, show Macbeth is future to send his life spiraling into insensibility. Witches were the dread the time. The Jacobeans were cognizant about whom they would associate with as everybody and anybody could be a witch. You were executed in the event that you were a witch in any case, at that point the witch preliminary would murder you on the off chance that you werenââ¬â¢t. You would almost beyond words you were an elderly person that lived all alone; she had a pet typically a feline, a fledgling or a frog and here and there a blemish on her skin. So black magic was paid attention to very in those occasions. Macbeth was a genuine ruler in the Jacobean period who submitted regicide against King Duncan of Scotland. In the Jacobean time the entirety of the residents accepted that God picked the lord and that the ruler had a high status in the chain of being. The chain of being was a pecking order that individuals were naturally introduced to, for instance God was at the top and the earth was at the base. The spot, on the chain, which you were naturally introduced to, can't change since God picked it and on the off chance that you challenged it you would be viewed as a miscreant since you conflicted with Godââ¬â¢s wishes. This could likewise be known as the normal request, sex additionally had an enormous influence in this since it was normal for a male to be higher than a female. Shakespeare utilizes emotional incongruity a great deal to construct strain all through the play. Shakespeare utilizes sensational incongruity when Macbeth does his monologue and mentions to us what he is feeling and what he figures he ought to do. This constructs strain. .nsure of the characters musings and what they will do in the scene. At the point when Shakespeare utilizes thunder and lightning in the scenes this additionally assembles strain in light of the fact that itââ¬â¢s secretive yet in addition since it shows the heavenly powers of the witches. As Macbeth was a genuine lord that submitted regicide it makes the story progressively practical for the crowd and makes the play come to live. This constructs strain since they realize this could occur and that it is conceivable. It is likewise entirely reasonable in light of the fact that right now there was war and unfairness happening all over England and Scotland. Thus since they had confidence in the incredible chain of being and the normal request of things it turned into all genuine as this is the means by which they life, in actuality. Then again it would be unbelievable when Lady Macbeth was the predominant player in the relationship and afterward turned into a leader of Scotland. While I have nothing against major news platforms and donât want to belittle stories that highlight some of the awesome things that MIT students are working on, I canât imagine how much it would terrify me if I read this sort of thing before applying to MIT. Itâs so easy to become overwhelmed by hearing about the ever-so-exciting lives of your friends offline or online, and that only amplifies when all of a sudden you imagine competing with these people for a spot in a university. There is a ridiculous amount of pressure from both adults and peers to be the âperfectâ student or âperfectâ applicant to colleges when perfection doesnât even exist. The problem with articles that hype the extraordinary things about a small subset of people is that they have the power to make you undervalue your (perhaps less-national-news-worthy) achievements. My goal is not to scare or put down or invalidate anyone who has pursued summer internships in labs at universities, has been working on college application essays since junior year, took SAT/ACT prep classes and practice exams until their hands cramped, extensively researched colleges since junior high, or came from a family of engineers and businesspeople. I just want to reach out to the applicants who read descriptions of seemingly âperfectâ students who have all of those qualifications and more, and feel their heart sink because they donât feel like theyâre good enough. Successful applicants really do come in all shapes and sizes and backgrounds, and you canât discredit yourself solely on a standardized test score number. Let me tell you how I ended up here. As a senior in high school, I knew college applications were coming up and that everyone in my high school was expected to apply somewhere. I talked with my dad a little bit and he described his college search process: he picked a couple schools that were affordable and seemed okay academically, wrote a couple essays, applied, was accepted by a few, and went to one. No bells, no whistles, no stress. So when I met with my school counselor and she expected me to have a list of no more than 12 schools ranked by difficulty to get in (âReach,â âComfort,â and âSafetyâ) with a breakdown of application pieces and statistics for each one, I immediately felt underprepared. I hadnât thought about which schools to attend; I had never cared about academic reputations or given any really serious thought into what I wanted to study in college, and all of a sudden it was all very REAL. I chose all my schools (including MIT) on a whim. I picked a variety of in-state and out-of-state schools to give myself the option to leave home if I was feeling brave. I looked into art schools and schools with forensic science programs and Ivy league schools mostly just because I had heard their names before. MIT ended up on my list because I read about the hacks and a couple of admissions blog postsâ"it seemed like a school with a sense of humor, and I liked that. I probably stumbled across College Confidential at some point and thought the idea of a bunch of competitive people swirling in an eddy of college-induced panic was stupid. I didnât care about online rankings of âTop 100 Schools in the Worldâ nor debates about Harvard vs. Yale nor application acceptance rates for any school. (Again, Iâm not trying to insult you if you do/did participate in the College Confidential community or ravenously devour top school news articles. It just wasnât my thing, and I really, really want to stress that itâs okay whether it is or isnât your thing.) Personally, I was really apathetic towards the college search process. I hoped to get in somewhere, but I really wasnât concerned where because I had no idea what I was going to do with my life. I had always assumed that I would continue exploring my options throughout college, rather than having to decide beforehand before Iâve even begun to learn about what options exist. Whereas some people in my grade were searching for schools with great reputations for a specific major like computer science, I genuinely didnât know you could study something called computer science (basic HTML was, in my mind, something I Googled and used to customize my Tumblr theme, not a tiny piece of a huge field of study⦠boy, was I wrong) But a fire was sparked when my counselor took a look at my list and, with a dismissive tone, said some spiel along the lines of: âCeri, youâre going to have to revise your college choices. You have too many âReachâ schools⦠With your math SAT scores you wonât get into a place like MIT, so you should probably just take it off and make room for another âSafetyâ school.â All of a sudden, this authority figure who I had very little respect for in the first place was telling me what I could or couldnât do with my life, and that made me really angry in a defiant-teenager sort of way. If these schools didnât want me, they would have to say so themselves. A stupid school counselor wasnât going to make me feel inadequate and stop me from even trying to apply. (Hint: This parallels how a stupid article online should not make you feel inadequate and stop you from even trying to apply. #litanalysis) So I kept my list the way it was, and began my applications. I wasnât the âperfectâ applicant in any way, shape, or form. Sure, on paper my grades were good, and I had some really great teachers to write my letters of reference. But mostly, I had a lot of luck. Iâm lucky that I had people who inspired me to have such diverse interestsâ"humanities teachers who taught me how to organize my ideas and construct compelling narratives, science teachers who brought in tectonic plate models or a bunch of organisms suspended in formaldehyde to emphasize learning by visualizing and actually doing things. Iâm lucky that I had a friend who had a car and wanted to cross-enroll with me so we could take calculus at another high school because my school didnât offer it. Iâm lucky my family is financially stable enough for me to volunteer as a summer camp counselor and play games with kids to teach them curiosity and science, rather than working at a grocery store or fast food restaurant like a lot of people my age. Iâm lucky I had a friend who was the president of drama club who roped me into designing and building sets, which led me to befriend our janitor and learn how to use power tools and construct structurally-sound furniture pieces in my free time after school. Iâm lucky my friends patiently coaxed me out of my socially anxious shell so I would try new experiences, actually join extracurricular activities, and even hold a couple little leadership positions by senior year. Iâm lucky I had a friend crazy enough to want to make a documentary with me about Nazi propaganda filmmakers for a history competition, and another that wanted to write and perform a short play about marine chronometers for the same competition. And Im lucky we did pretty well in that competition and got to travel to Washington DC and meet kids from all around the United States. Iâm lucky that I remembered all these things about myself and didnât worry about other peopleâs college applications. I didnât read example essays or try and force myself into the mold of a student who has overcome immense hardship to succeed academically. I didnât overwrite my essays and give them to 10 different people to proofreadâ"I handed them to my dad and asked âDoes this sound like me?â In my essays, I tried to avoid being the 1,000th person who said they would want to travel back in time and speak to Gandhi about social change, and instead wrote about how I wanted to be like Kaylee and explore space with a crew that felt like family. When MIT asked me to describe the world I came from, I told them about how media has played such a huge role in shaping who I am today, how fictional characters have taught me innumerable lessons about friendship and self-sacrifice and everything in between. This wasnât to ignore my familyâs role in raising me, to avoid discussing the fact that Iâve grown up with both Asian and Western cultural influences, or to write something solely to make me seem like a special snowflake. It just felt like the most genuine response I could give, and I like writing stories far more than writing a checklist of facts about myself in essay format. Rather than spending weeks brainstorming and writing these essays, I generally wrote them and turned them in within a 72 hour time span. One application at a timeâ"check, check, checkâ"until they were done, usually (embarrassingly) close to the due date. I can almost hear my high school counselor, and maybe even more across the nation, yelling at me for my apathy, âYou should take the college application process very seriously!â Once the apps were in, though, I stopped worrying. It was out of my control. If anything, I was most concerned about getting into the University of Washington because thatâs where I thought I would go, starting the college experience surrounded by a lot of people of my high school. Long story short, Iâm positive I didnât fit any sort of profile for the ideal applicant to a highly technical school like MIT, yet for some reason they gave my application a second glance. So you shouldnât have to worry either, because thereâs nothing more you can do other than be yourself, be honest, and be grateful for the opportunities youâve had to push yourself and find passions and learn and grow. (Besides maybe quadruple-checking your essays for spelling and grammar stuff. I could totally write a much less sappy âhow to college essayâ post if people wanted some advice regarding that.) I know there are other people on campus like me, with minimal technical background but a mighty curiosity and passions for art or science or building or whatever. Those of us that applied to MIT by chance, got in by some MIT admissions officer believing in us, and chose to commit because of the people we met here. And there are plenty more people completely unlike me, who were lucky or hardworking enough to go to some of the best schools in the nation with rich learning environments and resources, or who put in a lot of time and effort to take college classes or take on intense personal projects and expand their knowledge. But weâre all here now, working and learning and growing both as a community and as individuals. Promise me you wonât worry about other applicants or what other people say about how impossible your dreams are or application stereotypes. Donât allow MIT to become an all-consuming dream because people can have just as enriching college experiences elsewhere. Some of my very fondest college memories have been drinking tea and talking with my friend at Brown, believe it or not, since the MIT bubble can become stifling after a while. You will find your community of people, as long as you have the courage to go looking for them. Life works in crazy ways so, please, donât panic. ? For one thing there are many other contributors to violence; so, how is anyone really sure that media is at greater fault. Media violence these days is really just a replica to societys everyday life. Without such activity taken in real life there would be no ideas for music, movies, television, basically nothing for the news crew to talk about. So the real question would have to be, is societal violence a contributor to media violence? Violence in entertainment is the violence that has always been a part of human life. Biologists could even argue that violence and aggressive behavior are products of natural selection and that have been preserved for their survival value. The suggested relationship flanked by small-screen violence and flesh-and- blood violence is possibly the most looked at of sociological query. It has engaged researchers in as many as three thousand studies in the past four decades. Though only a few hundred have added some fresh information, the National Coalition on Television Violence has come up with some guidelines in being aware for television violence. These guidelines are involving things like a rating system with warning labels before shows air, a marker used for advertising shows, public service announcements about the effects of violence; also includes public health campaigns in schools, that address violence the way current programs deal with drunk driving and/or drugs like D.A.R.E. Sammy became even more turned on when her eyes moved ââ¬Å"across the racks, and stopped, and turned so slow it made my stomach rub the inside of my apron. â⬠(Kennedy 17) This could be considered Sammyââ¬â¢s first lustful affair from afar. Sammy wants to be noticed by these girls but the moment hasnââ¬â¢t presented itself. Mr. Lengel gives him the perfect opportunity to become their champion. When Mr. Lengel express to the girls how inappropriate their appearance are for a grocery store. Sammy went into a fit of anger to be dramatic from his future suitors. In Sammyââ¬â¢s mind these young beautiful teenagers were making a declaration of loveliness that existed only on a higher level and it was free of the codes of the average grocery shopper. Sammy resigns in an attempt to defend their honor, but recognizes his foolishness when the girls leave without giving him as much as a glance. In the short story of ââ¬Å"Where are you going. Where have you beenâ⬠was a very hard trying piece to read. Connie is a young girl and knows it all. Connie was a typical teenager female who only concerns were her looks, popular music, and boys. Connie was preoccupied with her appearance that she would crane ââ¬Å"her neck into the mirrors, or checking other peopleââ¬â¢s faces to make sure her own was all right. â⬠(Oates 381) Connieââ¬â¢s mother would reprimand about being so vain and belittled her by placing her older sister on a pedal stool to live up too. Connieââ¬â¢s mother urged her to be more responsible which is something we all heard as teenagers. Connie wished her mother and sister was dead because she wanted to be her own individual. Connie like a typical teenager felt invisible and she ignored her motherââ¬â¢s warnings. Connie is able to hang out with her friends because June had set a good precedent. Connieââ¬â¢s best friendââ¬â¢s father would drive them to the shopping plaza and pick them up with no questions. Connie and her friends would use the shopping plaza as the meeting place but only to run to the dine-in to meet boys. Sunday afternoon the family goes to a barbecue at the Auntââ¬â¢s house. When asked by her mother if she wanted to go, Connie rolled her eyes and said no because she wanted to feel independent plus she was to good to hang out with little kids and play. Connie was a grown woman until Arnold arrived and brought back to reality. This story is sad responsibility and paying attention to her surrounds is important. Connie cried out for her sister and mother when Arnold was abducting her with no success. The same people she wanted dead for independence she wanted to save her from this monster. The similarity between the short stories by John Updike and Joyce Carol Oates shows how as teenagers we act impulsively, we are invisible, and no care for consequences. Not until later after time realize our mistake but it is to late to correct. Those mistakes are called life lessons and that is what both these characters have in common. Sammy and Connieââ¬â¢s lessons is simple as a teenager you are not untouchable but vulnerable to lifeââ¬â¢s painful lessons. W hy are Consumers protected? Give a short account of the historical development of Consumer law in Australia. 2.Currently how do Consumer's protection laws operate in Australia? Please explain current Consumer law protection at both state and federal level. 3.If a Consumers is dissatisfied with a good or a service provided explain how he or she can get relief through the court system and outside the court system. Answers: 1.A group of laws and implementing organisations which are enacted by a country so that the rights of the consumer within it can be ensured along with promotion of competition, availability of appropriate and adequate information and fair trade in the market. According to Corones (2014) a place where the seller and the buyer come together to do business is known as the Marketplace. The intention of the seller is to make money from sales and that of the buyer is to purchase something they want or need. The situation is suitable for both the buyer and the seller as long as there expectations are met. The government for the purpose of controlling the market enact a number of laws giving rights to the consumers in relation to the quality of goods they purchase from the sellers. In addition Consumer Protection insurance that the sellers do not indulge in any kind of conduct which is likely to deceive on mislead the consumer (Stadler 2013). According to Ramsay (2012) consumer protection is one of the most essential needs of the society because without a proper Consumer Protection framework it would be impossible to establish a market where the expectations of both the buyers and sellers can be fulfilled. In the contract for sales the bargaining power of the consumer is always lower than that of the seller. Thus, consumer protection ensures that the bargaining power of the customers are enhanced by providing them specific rights with respect to the transaction (Cvjetanovic 2013). Consumer Protection laws ensure that fair trading practices are initiated in the Marketplace. Through these laws the sellers and manufacturers become more accountable towards the quality of goods provided by them for sale. Consumer protection ensures that consumers are not taken advantage of in the Marketplace and if such event occurs they can be compensated for any loss which has been incurred by them. In case consumers are not provided protect ion it would evidently lead to the downfall of the market and subsequently the economy of the country. According to Latimer (2012) consumers are the base of any Marketplace and if they do not feel protected it would lead to unwanted chaos and problems within the society. The purpose of any business organisation is to make profits, thus, protecting the customers through the consumer protection laws ensures that the organisations do not cross the line in order to maximize their profits and bring detriment to the society. Consumer law in Australia had been initially developed through an agreement between the Council of Australian governments. Anti-trust legislation in Australia was passed in the year 1906. The Australian government considered the Sherman Act 1890 used in the United States to base the Australian Industries Prevention Act. There was an amendment to the Act in the year 1911, however it could not become effective. In the year 1965 Australian government passed another Act which was based on the Restrictive Trade Practices Act 1956 belonging to the United Kingdom. Further in the year 1974 the successful Trade Practices Act was passed, which contained strong legislative measures for the purpose of enhancing competition and efficiency in business and to prevent restrictive trade practices along with providing protection to the customers from any kind of unfair trade. The Trade Practices Act 1974 was replaced by the Australian consumer law through schedule 2 of the Australian Competition and C onsumer Act 2010 (Richards et al. 2012). 2.The scheduled 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 is a set legislation for the protection of consumer and is applicable as the law of the Australian Commonwealth alongside being incorporated into the law of the state and territories of Australia. Provisions which were incorporated in the trade practices act 1974 are broadly reflected for the new consumer law along with a few additional protections for the consumer. Most of the provisions related to consumer protection of the states and territories legislation are incorporated in the Australian consumer law. A broad definition has been provided by the Australian consumer law in relation to who is a consumer. The Australian consumer law defines a consumer has anyone who purchases services are good with have a value of less than $40000, any person who purchase a good or service which is required for ordinary household purpose even if it is of a value of more than 40000 and anyone who purchases at trailer or a vehicle for the pu rpose of transporting goods on public roads. Even if the goods have been purchased for the purpose of re supply or for any kind of trade and Commerce the buyer would be regarded as a consumer. Accordingly the new Australian consumer law enhances protection in relation to product safety and quality, business behaviour, farms and businesses (Pearson 2017). The Australian consumer law recognises and identifies unfair terms to be void however if the contract can be continued without the presence of that unfair term contract would still be applicable. All the sellers are prevented from engaging in a conduct which is unconscionable while dealing with any other person with respect to trade and Commerce. The Australian consumer law prevents any seller to engage in a conduct which can be misleading or deceptive or is likely to mislead of deceive any consumer in relation to the contract for sales of goods or services. Further the Australian consumer law prevents any kind of bait advertisements which is used to induce the customers to increase the demand of particular goods or services without having the intention to supply them (Barnett and Harder 2014). The enforcement and administration of the ACL is done by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission along with the state and territory Consumer Protection Agencies. The Australian Security and Investment Commission also takes part in the administration of the law when it comes to Financial Service matters (Akinbami 2011.). The federal jurisdiction of the law is also applicable to the behaviour which is done outside Australia by an Australian citizen, a person who is ordinarily resident in Australia and a body which has been incorporated or carries out business in Australia. The federal regulation also supervisors over the conduct of corporations, the supply of goods and services to Corporation or accusation of services and goods from any person by a Corporation other than public companies which are listed. All other matters which come under the provisions of ACL are governed by the states. Consistency between jurisdictions is promoted by the implementation of identical Consum er Protection laws in both the states and the Commonwealth as it becomes convenient for the Federal government to amend laws without initiating any debate in relation to the laws in the jurisdiction of the state or territory. 3.In case, a person is not satisfied in relation to the goods and services procured by him in Australia, he has the option of claiming relief both from the court system and outside. The Australian consumer law provides consumer guarantees to the consumers. According to this guarantees if the product are not in accordance with the reasonable expectations of the consumer it is the liability of the seller to repair, refund or replace the goods or services. In addition if a consumer is harmed because of the use of such goods or services it is also the liability of the seller to compensate the consumer for the harm caused to him because of such use. There have been several cases in Australia where fines and penalties have been imposed on businesses for the breach of Australian Consumer law such as the case of Australian competition and consumer Commission vs Bunavit Pty ltd 2016 FCA 6, ACCC v Whistle Co Pty Ltd 2015 FCA 1447 and ACCC v Reckitt Benckiser Pty Ltd 2015 FCA 1408. These cases have not only resulted in the payment of pecuniary penalties but also the cost which was incurred by ACCC with respect to the case along with the corrective notice in business franchise Australia magazine. Whenever there is a problem related to the quality of goods the consumers must always follow a three step complaint process. In the first step a complaint should be made to the seller and the problems regarding the service or the goods have to be discussed with them so that it can be resolved. Secondly through the use of consumer guarantees and the provisions of refund, replace and repair the problem should be solved as far as possible with the seller outside the court through the process of negotiation (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission 2017). However, if the problem does not get solved by following the previous steps a consumer may write a complaint letter to ACCC briefing the problem. A dispute which has a value of less than $12000 can initiate a minor civil action in the Magistrate Court. For disputes involving a value of more than $12000 and less than $100000 are eligible to initiate a claim in general claim division of the courts. Where the dispute involves a value of more than $100000 a claim can be initiated with respect to such dispute in the district and Supreme Court of the respective states and territories. Prior to initiating a litigation process a notice of intention to sue in a way of a final notice of claim has to be provided to the service provider or the business (Consumerlaw.gov.au 2017). Increasingly, violent behavior is being observed in the American workplace (McCune 52). This research examines the phenomenon of work-related violence. An overview of the problem is followed by a discussion of possible explanations for such behavior. The increase in the incidence of work-related violence in the United States is characterized by behaviors that range from telephonic threats to murder (Filipczak 39-40). Homicide is now the second most common cause of on-the-job deaths in the United States. Approximately 7,000 work-related homicides occur each year in the United States (Segal 33). More than 80 percent of work-related homicides result from gun-related injuries (Windau 58-9). A general profile of the perpetrator of violent work-related acts is a white male under a high level of stress (Filipczak 39). A more specific profile narrows the age range to 30-40 years old and adds the condition that the individual is entirely dependent financially on the individual's current employment (Schut 125). Victims of work-related violence are predominately males (83 percent) between the ages of 25 and 54 years old (Windau 58-9). The proportion of American workers who have been the victims of physical attacks in connection with their employment over the span of their career is estimated at 15 percent (Lipman 15). Four percent of the total number of homicides in the United States are work-related (Schut 125). With respect to non-fatal violent incidents, however, 16 percent of all such incidents in the United States are work-related. Almost one million non-fatal work-related violent incidents occur each year in the United States (Friedman 4). Approximately 10 percent of these incidents involved the use of handguns (Friedman 4). Violence is most typically an outgrowth of conflict. By definition, conflict is simply a disagreement between two or more parties over some issue, objective, or behavior. A conflict, thus, is a dispute. Violence is an outgrowth of conflict when peaceful dispute mechanisms fail. When family members, co-workers, friends, strangers, ethnic and racial groups, and even entire nations perceive that they are being denied something that they feel they should have (regardless of the validity of their justification for such a perception), the typical response is to identify the party responsible for such denial. When such identification is established, the essence of a conflict situation, the issue and the parties has been defined. Conflict may be the result of genuine inequities among parties, or conflict may stem from cultural differences that shape perceptions. Conflict need not necessarily be detrimental to the parties involved. Effective and peaceable dispute resolution may introduce greater equity into society and bring the parties involved in a conflict closer together; conflict is detrimental, however, when violent behavior is the outcome. The profiles of persons who perpetrate acts of work-related violence always characterize such persons as "loners" (Schut 125). Definitively, loners often experience difficulty both in establishing and maintaining worthwhile personal and group relationships. The integration of individuals into their society stems from the forces that place them within the social system and govern their participation and patterned associations with others. Social values, group memberships, and social roles are conceived as the axes providing the ties that structure social interaction, place the person in society, and order relations with others (Bertrand 22). In effect, actors are integrated into society through the beliefs they hold, the positions they occupy, and the groups to which they belong. Maintaining social patterns, however, is often difficult (Bertrand 23). While great individual variation exists, many people find it increasingly difficult to maintain friendships, neighborhood ties, and family relationships under the changing conditions of their lives. The development and growth of adult groups are functions of four activities described by Bertrand (76). These activities are adaptation, goal attainment, integration, and pattern maintenance and extension. The motives for the development of adult groups include the immediate gratification of personal needs, the gaining of mechanisms for continuing gratification, the pursuit of collective goals, and the gaining of conditions for self-determination. When individuals cannot fulfill these objectives, they may then resort to violent behavior as a consequence. An absence of effective interpersonal communications within organizational settings may be implicated in the estrangement of some individuals from their co-workers and then resort to violent behavior (Weide & Abbott 143). One of the primary requirements for the development of effective interpersonal communications with and between persons is the establishment of interpersonal trust (Bertrand 198). Research indicates that a person will likely distort information received from another that is not trusted. Thus if person 'B' distrusts person 'A', then person 'B' will become evasive, attempt to Nhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11671378235865057915noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1014777798006129712.post-69791900286770443102020-03-05T14:33:00.001-08:002020-03-05T14:33:02.349-08:00Free Essays on Lord Of The Flies Good Vs. And their impact on the environment and mankind. Business ethics applies to all forms of business conduct and is related to the conduct of individuals and the entire organization. They have both normative and descriptive dimensions. It should be noted that the field is primarily normative as a corporate practice and career specialization. Academiciansââ¬â¢ determination to understand business behavior employ descriptive methods. Interaction of profit-maximizing behavior with non-economic concerns reflects the range and quantity of business ethical issues. Governments use laws and regulations to control business behaviors in what the government perceives to be beneficial directions (Denver, 2013). Ethics specifically regulates details and areas of behavior that are beyond government control. The sprouting of extensive corporations with inadequate relationships and sensitivity to the communities they work from propagated the development of formal ethical regimes. Ethical norms reflect norms of historical periods; norms evolve as time passes resulting in accepted behaviors becoming objectionable. Firms started pointing out their ethical issues as early as 1980s by trying to distance themselves from business scandals like savings and loan crisis. Business ethics ideas caught the attention of media, academics, and business firms by the end of the cold war. Concisely, one of the aims of business ethics is to determine the fundamental purposes of the company, for instance, the company may have to sacrifice the profits to other concerns if a companyââ¬â¢s purpose is to maximize shareholder returns. And economists define a money multiplier to see the ratio of money supply and the actual monetary base in the economy. Now, the recent financial crisis has affected some parts of the definition of money especially as a store of value. The financial upturn has shown that most assets and asset classes previously believed to be the ââ¬Å"safeâ⬠stores of value for money are in fact all driven by risk and can at some point in time not be ââ¬Å"so safeâ⬠. For example, houses are one the largest stores of value but the global deterioration of property prices has made this option less valuable. Similarly, government bonds which were considered as the safest bets for store of value were actually no longer safe either as we see the example of Greece and their impending default of payment and/or restructuring of debt in Greece. Bank deposits were badly hit as storage of value with the bank-runs seen i n Northern Rock, UK and several other banks in the US. Currencies by nature of being subject to market demand and supply appreciate and depreciate with time and cannot be considered as safe stores of value either as was seen in the example of Asian financial crisis of the late 1990s. Secondly, the money multiplier, m, as explained by economists is supposed to be 1/R where R is the reserve requirement for banks. As seen during the financial crisis, this equation was not valid at all. Figure 1 below shows the variation of money multiplier from 1984 to present. We see that as soon as the financial crisis hit, even though there was little or no change in the reserve requirements, the money multiplier saw a huge drop to end up at less than 1.This means that while the government was creating supply of money, banks were reluctant to lend. Figure 1. M1 Money multiplier in the US ââ¬â 1984 to March 2011 Source: Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis Given the turnout of events as happened dur ing the financial crisis, there seems to be no readily identifiable group of assets that economists would consider as money. To be accepted as money by all, none of the assets satisfy all the criteria ââ¬â bill of exchange, bonds, equities, deposits. Gold, silver and precious metal come close but as these are rare, and cannot really meet the demand for money, they cannot really be considered as money. Question 2 The structure of Federal reserve system is shown below in figure 1. Figure 1. Structure of Federal reserve system The components of the federal reserve system and their functions are described below: 1. Board of governors: they are appointed by the US president and confirmed by the US senate. The primary responsibility of the Board members is the formulation of monetary policy. The Board sets reserve requirements and shares the responsibility with the Reserve Banks for discount rate policy. 2. Federal Reserve banks: The 12 Federal Reserve banks operate under supervision of the board of governors. Each bank has 9 directors who appoint the bank presidents who form part of the Federal Open Market Comittee. The main role of the reserve banks is to influence the flow of money and credit in the economy. The Federal Reserve Banks hold, in their vaults, collateral for government agencies to secure public funds that are on deposit with private depository institutions. It pervades every aspect of life. Fashion is mystifying, intimidating, irritating at time yet compulsive. It is an assertion or expression of identity. So long as identity is important, fashion will continue to be important. Fashion defines an individuals persona. Fashion designers define how people should dress up and how they look in different outfits. They continue to make contributions to cultural and social environment. In their zeal to create something unique, designers are always on the lookout for inspiration from history, cultural differences, themes, motifs and contemporary thoughts. But fashion cannot be moulded per the male or female outlook. It speaks independently of its creators. Role of designers need not be gender biased or biology biased. A detailed scrutiny into gender and sex shows one is biological and other societal. For instance, females, biologically are designed to give birth. Once they have given birth and performed the mammalian function, they can take up a role of hunter or a warrior. The terms hunter and nester refer to masculine and feminine. Masculine describes an approach that is abstract in nature, usually focused on a splendid thought, the way of a hunter. Contrary to this, feminine approach is considered to be orchestrating detailed decisions contributing to wider set of objectives, the way of a nester. Regardless of sex, fashion designers can be categorized into 3 groups- Hunter, Nester and nester- hunter designer. Hunter designers are those who have focused approach on one thing but to do that very efficiently. Designers in nester group have broad minded approach. They aspire to take steps in sequence contributing to a decision keeping i n mind long term objectives. It is striking to notice difference between male and female designs. There is a slight assumption that abstract skills are of higher value. Emphasis should be on both abstract and verbal reasoning, technical and aesthetics implying that Nester and hunter need to work hand in hand for best results. Many women have a masculine approach to a design and many men have a feminine approach to a design. Nester-hunter designers are a mix of both. It is important to understand these types of designer approaches as the best design teams have a combination of hunter and nester approach. It does make sense that a combination of abstract thought blended well with meticulous design and contractual management would lead to some of the best works getting designed. AT the drawing board one can work from a particular thought to a more general one. This can be done even vice versa. But the important thing is that one should have a clear precise perspective of the end design. Majority of the worlds fashion designing schools are run by women but have been organized by men. Fashion was not always a gendered occurrence. Until eighteenth century, both men and women decked themselves with elaborate dresses. Costume historians have elaborated that gender distinction in dress was not that prominent until nineteenth century. Men and women in elite class often emulated abundant show of rich velvets, fine silks, lace, decorative footwear, wigs, head embellishments and scented powders. Men in pink suits, gold and silver jewelry and embroidered shirts were considered very masculine, regardless of choice of color or ornaments worn. The more intricate the dress, the higher used to be the status of the wearer in the society. Fashion was not only a womens affair then. It became feminized since nineteenth century when gender representation became stronger than societal class. With the turn of century, not only fashion became more feminized, but male identity went through a distinct change with modernization. Early theorists related fashion to the social status of women. The affluent displayed their wealth by ornamenting their wives and daughters exuding an air of sophistication. The women also spent endless efforts and hours to be ladies. At the end of eighteenth century bourgeois male went through the great masculine renunciation, as a result of which men gave up wearing all the bright colors and jewelry leaving it to the womens domain. In post industrial societies, men were guided by occupational spheres. Their business and casual attire were starkly different. Also age segmentation has played a very prominent role in defining mens style. Amongst women, age segmentation is only for those who want to believe in it. Although the designer fashion tends to extend beyond the boundaries of masculinity, the gender fashion still exists between male and female fashion. To that extent, fashion may be assumed to be cultural, affecting consumers perception and experience of design. The impact of gender is very evident in the visual appearances in consumers mind. For instance, pink for the girl and blue for the boy goes the clichà © defining gender by color coding. In the designer world, industrial design is thought as male and textile design as female. Even design is rendered into gender stereotypes like feminine lace, dolls for girls, masculine leather, etc. As industriliazation took place, social stratas on clothing transformed in eterms of occupation. The social chasm between lower class, middle and upper class was huge during the industrial era. Clothes were almost unavailable for the poor but were in abundance for the rich- for whom changes in fashions were created. Members of other social classes were just expected to emulate the rich if they wished to appear fashionable. By late nineteenth century clothes had become cheaper and accessible to lower classes of society. Middle and upper class women spent substantial amount of their incomes on fashionable clothes. Mens social clothing became more and more simplified. Infact the concept of uniforms and dress codes gained importance to showcase the ranks in the bureaucratic organizations. In the twentieth century, clothes seem to have lost their economic relevance but not their symbolic relevance. This is because clothes are available in all price ranges to suit all pockets. Those with l imited resources can still emulate fashion by creating personal styles which are expression of their identities rather than imitating styles of the affluent. Appearance of fashion indicated sudden appearance of a new social bond and a social temporality With time, fashion trends have changed. It has been dominated by cult, uniqueness , inspiration from local and foreign models. Fashion instituted the social power of minute signs which has an astonishing mechanism of social distinction of those who dress in an innovative way. It also draws inspiration from ancestral heritage and social norms. Fashion perhaps forms a major part in the construction of a social identity. It is an indication of how people in different eras showcased their positions and status boundaries. The most visible marks of social status and gender has been broadly showcased by Fashion. Fashion dictates the choices that people make in the form of culture, norms and appropriateness of the occasion. For instance, hats were a huge fashion statement and were worn to either showcase recognised or desired social status. Fashion clothing also revealed the occupation, social class and regional origin of a person. It distinguishes elite fashion from everyday fashion. There is very less in common amongst dressing style of a secretary a homemaker, a businessman and a law enforcement officer. As a social phenomenon, it has been treated as futile because of huge association of outward appearance with women. The face of fashion defines its phenomena. Female fashion emanates uniqueness and change. Mens interest in fashion is dictated by their occupation generally but womens interest depends upon their fascination with beauty. Now the nature of fashion seems to have changed. From nineteenth century when fashion was more on well defined standard of societal appearance has now evolved into being more contemporary. It has become indistinct, multifaceted and highly fragmented. New styles have been evolved over the years. Societies have changed dramatically in the past few decades. Social class has become less prominent in the contemporary society of today. Instead of class differentiation there is fragmentation of cultures within societies. 1960s was a special era in the sense where fashion emerged in lower status groups and adopted by the affluent. This fashion phenomena defied age and social barriers conveying pride to the trendsetter. In early 90s, designers tried to be innovative by adding feminine elements to menswear. Also there seemed to be a female dominance over the culture. Fashion for women fits the definition of conflicted supremacy. Women have held contrasting position in different times ranging from marginally unconcealed to conservative to acceptable fashionable to feminine dominance and empowerment in 90s. Turrow believes lifestyles are now in hypersegmentation which isolates each lifestyle in its own niche. People are more likely to frequent changes in their lifestyle now. The mulitplicity of changes that such lifestyle in a contemporary society presents the opportunity to an indidual to break away from tradition.Todays individual constructs a send of identity from his past, present and future events, commitments and aspirations. The individual styles have also gone through frequent changes in line with their changing lifestyles. Personal orientation, income, education, family careers, social position influence a persons taste in fashion. The younger generation today, usually with more affluent background have post modernist attitude towards identity. Attitude of younger women towards fashion is that of liberalization, power and personal panache. Men are now borrowing elements of costumes from women. Problems are faced when there is persistence to keep male gender above the female one . Today men spend lot of time and money on hair styling, appearance, fashionable clothing and skin products. These men are being coined as metrosexual. A metrosexual man willingly displays his masculinity from his ability to consume, showcase his toned physique to assert his identity as an urban middle class man.Yet again, fashion is being used to exhibit gender identity. Fashions most imminent characteristic is that it changes. With multiple demands on clothing and dressing, change is the only constant. Cross-dressing has come up as a welcome antidote to confining concepts of society and gender. It offers alternative ways to visualize and dress up a gender and might end up freeing the consumers restrictive thoughts on gender dressing. Realm of fashion in undergoing a radical change. Fashion contributes to newer definitions of social identities and newer attributes to personal preferences. Today because of globalization, fashion houses have to constantly innovate, think out of the box as consumers are no longer fashion victims. Gender studies in design have now challenged these contentious gender, sterotypes, cultural and societal outlook. Female designers earlier have been more prevalent in ceramics, textile designs and men more prominent in abstract art and advertising designs. These self, societal and cultural divisions are breaking down now. Men and women both have critical roles to play as consumers and producers of design. People select styles to suit their identity, lifestyle and societal norms. Fashion is a choice not a compulsion. It is not a simple process to achieve equivalence between design and customer preference. Designers today are pushing gender based boundaries in fashion and almost pulverizing them. They are bringing to life their vision of what they consider fashion. Designers are now teaming up with people who have different perspectives to make an impact in all their designs. They take pride in and gain strength from the richness of a multicultural society and recognize it as a continuous growth . They work in an environment where they contribute their thoughts freely and create designs. These designs are sated with utmost creativity, uniqueness, abstractness and intricacy at the same time. This has become the definition of success. This is basically the message society is sending to women today. If you conform to the worldââ¬â¢s idea of what a woman should look like then you will be accepted. In the two articles ââ¬Å"The Pitfalls of Plastic Surgeryâ⬠by Camille Paglia and ââ¬Å"The Beauty Mythâ⬠by Naomi Wolf, the way women have responded to the message from society is discussed from both perspectives.Wolf is clearly against women's confinement to societal pressures. She reveals that there is a ââ¬Å"secret underlie poisoning our freedom,â⬠referring to the way women focus on appearance and fitting in (Wolf 10). Paglia's argument focuses on the extent of women using plastic surgery to become what they believe society wants them to be. She writes about the way women have made themselves their own ââ¬Å"works of art,â⬠taking plastic surgery t o higher levels in the industry. Wolf emphasizes the way women have changed their values over the years. She makes an emotional appeal by concluding that the ââ¬Å"contemporary ravagesâ⬠are ââ¬Å"destroying women physically and depleting us psychologicallyâ⬠(Wolf 19). Over time, society has influenced women to confine themselves to what the world believes is beauty instead of embracing the power of being a woman and focusing on their place in the economy. The first image portrays a woman who is perfectly proportioned yet still uncomfortable with her body. The woman in the ad has her hands behind her back as if sheââ¬â¢s nervous about people seeing her in the bikini sheââ¬â¢s wearing. The light blue color of the background symbolizes renewal instead of the sadness that would be portrayed from a darker blue; losing weight creates a brighter future. The bend in her leg reveals her shyness as she looks towards the weight loss product, feeling like she has to use it in o rder to be confident. The fact that she isnââ¬â¢t comfortable after she has lost 25 pounds and is wearing a black bikini reveals the extremes that our society force us to go to in order to be accepted. If it isnââ¬â¢t one part of the body, itââ¬â¢s another. The phrase ââ¬Å"jealous exesâ⬠is used to draw attention to the product giving a perspective on what women feel is important these days. Just by looking at this ad it is implied that most women want to make all their exes jealous, not become a CEO of a company. The ad as a whole, pin points how the world thinks women should want to look. Why 25 pounds and not 5? Why is she still uncomfortable? The pressure from society creates this never ending cycle of conformity to the ideal woman. It seems as though women today have shifted their attention to issues that shouldnââ¬â¢t matter. Many women are concerned with ââ¬Å"physical appearance, bodies, faces, hair, clothes,â⬠bringing attention to the relationship be tween ââ¬Å"female liberation and female beauty. ââ¬Å"(Wolf 9) The pressures of society have influenced women to believe they all need to resemble one another. The media always tends to focus on skinny models, light-skinned women, long-haired women, and tall women when they refer to the word ââ¬Å"beauty. These are the types of women that are scarce in our society because everyone obviously isnââ¬â¢t born that way. Most of our society is filled with women who have curves, like the plus sized models of today, or who have darker skin compared to the famous models with fair complexions. The spotlight on the preferred image of women in society causes them to think they have to be just like that vision in order to be accepted. In the image I have chosen, there are two different women who both won a beauty contest in different areas of the world. One woman is skinny with long, blonde hair in her face, while the other has curves and dark, shorter hair out of her face. The woman with curves is more conservative with her outfit and her make-up. She is wearing a bikini, but covering her bottom with a wrap and her make-up is more natural. The skinny woman on the other hand is showing off her body in a bikini and her make-up is on heavier than the other womanââ¬â¢s. The women in our society today feel like they canââ¬â¢t achieve certain goals in life without being the worldââ¬â¢s ideal women, but according to this image, it is possible. The plus sized woman in this image is a great example of an empowering figure for women in our society because she is confident with her body and makes the statement that it is okay to love you the way you were born. Who is to blame for women thinking they constantly need to change themselves to fit in? Why arenââ¬â¢t women comfortable with their bodies? When people like the media are repeatedly beating you up for being yourself you tend to change if you are not confident. The media exploits women through ads, magazines, a nd ââ¬Å"pornographyâ⬠and the women of today are allowing it to happen (Wolf 10).There are only a hand full of women who arenââ¬â¢t ashamed to go against the grain and be proud of who they are. In the photo of J-woww, the magazine is criticizing her for moving her leg a certain way causing her cellulite to show. She is wearing a pink bikini that shows off her tattoo and tanned skin. The magazine points out that she canââ¬â¢t cover up every flaw with tattoos and tanning oils implying that she is full of imperfections. In the eyes of many other people she has a nice body, but according to the media she needs work done. As long as she is comfortable with her body their opinion doesnââ¬â¢t matter right?Wrong. Many people look at this in a magazine and agree because society has taught us to judge one other the same way they judge us. In the words of Wolf, these obsessions are ââ¬Å"poisoning our freedom,â⬠women in earlier days worked hard and sacrificed for women t oday to have the power and money they have, but the way women today feel about themselves leaves them ââ¬Å"worse off than our unliberated grandmothersâ⬠(Wolf 10). Society has conned women into focusing on beauty and acceptance instead of being empowered and useful in the economy.Women are usually projected as sex symbols that should always look a certain way. It is rare to see a woman in a movie or magazine with a professional outfit on that isnââ¬â¢t showing too much skin. A woman wearing a nice skirt with a blazer and a shirt buttoned all the way up is a great icon to other women because it shows how you donââ¬â¢t have to have your chest out and be exploited to be important. The image portraying a professional woman flexing her arms like a man would shows how women can have power without conforming to societyââ¬â¢s expectations. The way her mouth is open gives the impression that she is excited to be in the position she is in, and comfortable with herself as a woma n. The workplace has more women in it now than it did years ago, and more women need to start taking advantage of this new opportunity. Over the years women have been influenced to confine themselves to the ideals of society. Women are constantly judged and criticized forcing them to change themselves when there was no need to. There are not many women who will stand up and go against what the world thinks, embrace the power of being as woman, and take heir rightful place in the economy. If there is going to be a change it has to start with the women not the men, the media, friends, or society as a whole. ââ¬Å"If we are to free ourselves from the dead weight that has once been made out of femaleness, it is not ballots or lobbyists or placards that women will need first; it is a new way to see. EssayFor many years there has been many doubts, and controversy about the death of probably the biggest figure of the 20th century, ââ¬Å"The King of Rock Nââ¬â¢ Rollâ⬠, Elvis Aaron Presley. Many people believe that he still alive and for a lot of reasons in which cannot be blamed for believing so. Elvis Presley is alive and the facts will prove it. After Elvis Presley ââ¬Å"diedâ⬠on August 16, 1977, there have been numerous alleged sightings of him. Fans have noted alleged discrepancies in the death certificate, reports of a wax dummy in his original coffin and numerous accounts of Presley planning a diversion so he could retire in peace. ââ¬Å"The Kingâ⬠was just 19 years old when he began his career working with Sam Phillips, owner of the legendary Sun Records. Elvisââ¬â¢ first single, ââ¬Å"Heartbreak Hotelâ⬠, released in January of 1956 and was a number-one hit. Presley quickly became the face of the newly popular sound of rock and roll for many appeara nces in the network television and successful music records. His gifted voice wasnââ¬â¢t the only thing that made him successful; his unique style of performing was very electrifying and charismatic, that you couldnââ¬â¢t just sit down and watch him perform. By November 1956, he debuted his acting career starring in the movie ââ¬Å"Love Me Tenderâ⬠. In March 24, 1958, Elvis enlisted into the U.S Army and served for two years and earned the rank of Sergeant. After returning to the United States, Elvis continued his acting career along with his music career and was still on top. On May 1, 1967, Elvis Presley married Priscilla Beaulieu after being together for more than seven years and they had a child on February 1,1968 names Lisa Marie; Presleyââ¬â¢s only child. On that same year, ââ¬Å"The Kingâ⬠became very unhappy and frustrated with his career; his movies werenââ¬â¢t being a success like he when started back in the ââ¬Ë60s and his singles were not even reaching the top 40 in the charts. Something needed to change and thus came the famous 68ââ¬â¢ Comeback Special that was aired on television, Elvisââ¬â¢ first live performance since 1961, singing his rock and roll hits from back in late ââ¬Ë50s and other hit singles during his acting career in which put him back in track and once again he quickly became a hit sensation. After that, Presley went on tour for many years with no resting and on 1973; he performed in the history making concert, Aloha From Hawaii that was broadcast worldwide. This was the first global concert satellite broadcast. During that time, Elvis got divorced from Priscilla and it really affected his life and he started to become very depressed and ill. He was addicted to many drugs that he used to gain energy keep doing his concert, to get some sleep and other needs that he was unable to find. Even though he was getting drugs from the doctors, he abused them with no delicacy what so ever. By the year of 1977 he became the complete opposite of his legendary image; incredibly overweight, he could barely move on stage, energy and charisma complete gone and he even had trouble remembering his songs. On August 16, 1977, The King was declared dead from a heart attack, shorlty after , they reported that his death was because a drug over dose. Firstly, we have an author named Gail Brewer ââ¬â Giorgio who believed that The King faked his death in which inspired her to write a novel on that time in 1977 called Orion and it was a fictional story about a famous person who faked his own death. After the book was released in just a short time, for some reasons the books were nowhere to be found. A woman told the author that when she went to buy the book, she was told that two men in business suit came and bought all of the books. Gail called New York and explained the situation but she never received a feedback about the problem. So she asked herself in an interview; ââ¬Å"why would someone pay an author $60,000 and not put the books back in the store? It just didnââ¬â¢t made senseâ⬠. Meanwhile, an investigator of the Los Angeles Sheriff Police Department had an incredibly similar experience. Monty Nicholson wrote a book called ââ¬Å"The Presley Arrangementâ⬠in approximately the same period of time. He said; ââ¬Å"Gail Giorgio and myself, did not even know of one another and yet we wrote the same identical facts surrounding the mystery of Elvisââ¬â¢ alleged death from different independent sourcesâ⬠. His book, just like Gailââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Orionâ⬠, disappeared from the shelves right after it was published. Was this too much of a coincidence? Friends of Monty tried to order the books and the sellers refused to order the book. Were the fictional stories Orion and The Presley Arrangement too close to the thruth? Also, the Memphis Police officially closed the files of the death of Presley before it was even medically or scientifically possible to determine his death. All of the pictures that were taken in the death scene disappeared along with all the notes written by the medical examiners. Gail and Monty viewed a copy of Elvis Presleyââ¬â¢s autopsy report and Monty recalled that the autopsy report was ââ¬Å"two pages long, it lacks any of the significant informat ion that is normally found in an autopsy report. And during the course of any normal investigation, this autopsy report would be incomplete and unacceptableâ⬠. In the other hand, many fans said that the body that they saw in the casket did not look like Elvis at all. His nose was too flat, nothing like his long, pointy nose. They also said that the body had sweat on him, and bodies donââ¬â¢t sweat. Even Elvisââ¬â¢s cousin, Gene Smith, did not believe that the body in the casket was Elvis. He also said ââ¬Å"his nose looked a little pug, his right sideburn was sticking out, his hairline looked as it has been half pasted or glued on. His hands looked just as smooth as a newborn babyââ¬â¢s behind you know. He was sweatinââ¬â¢ around his hairline, it could have been sweat, it could have been glue I donââ¬â¢t know but umâ⬠¦ I just didnââ¬â¢t believe that it was himâ⬠, Said Gene Smith. Even if that body really was him, then, why does the body looks like the young version of him back in 1958? This argument is very convincing when the facts are considered. Elvisââ¬â¢s coffin required several pall bearers because it we ighed 900 pounds. Attendants of the funeral reported that the air around the coffin was rather cool. It is suspected that the coffin contained an air conditioning unit to keep a wax body cool ââ¬â a wax body that was a replica of the King designed to fool funeral-goers. And how did the Presley family get a 900 pound, custom made coffin ready for a funeral that was held on the day after his death? It takes a lot of time to build such an elaborate coffin. And why have the funeral so quickly? Some speculate that the immediacy was intended to make it as difficult as possible for the people who were Elvisââ¬â¢s biggest fans (heads of fan clubs, etc.) to attend the proceedings. It could be a concern that they might recognize the flaws in the wax replica. Elvis was an 8th degree black belt whose hands were rough with calluses, yet the body in the coffin had hands that were soft and pudgy. The body in the coffin had a pug nose and arched eyebrows (unlike Elvis) and most importantly, one of the sideburns on the ââ¬Å"corpseâ⬠was loose and falling off. A hairdresser later reported gluing the sideburn back on the body. Back at Elvisââ¬â¢s home, Graceland, there are some curious facts about Presleyââ¬â¢s grave. His second named spelled ââ¬Å"Aaronâ⬠on the headstone even though he officially changed his name to one ââ¬Å"aâ⬠on his birth certificate and that he was not lying beside his mother which he had an incredible bond with her, it wouldnââ¬â¢t make sense if he wasnââ¬â¢t buried next to her, instead, he was buried next to his fatherââ¬â¢s and grandmotherââ¬â¢s grave and that would not be something that Elvis would have wanted that because back when he was ââ¬Å"aliveâ⬠. He always mentioned that if he would have died, he would have wanted to be buried beside her mother. Four months later after Elvis was reported dead, Mike Joseph and his family went to Graceland to see where Elvis was left to rest. They spend some time there, took some pictures and returned back home. Now what Joseph didnââ¬â¢t notice in many years was that one of the pictures he took showed a man sitting in a chair looking outside the house at the fans that walked by his headstone. Kodak examined those pictures and said that the pictures are original and were not altered at all. They were taken in sequence, uncut, and the motion number said that it was manufactured in 1977. Elvis Presley was involved in many law enforcement, he had a lot of love for law enforcement. Elvis was connected with the Memphis Police, in Denver, even the L.A.P.D. Elvis was always very interested in Law and Order, and he always wanted to work in the Federal Government. Having his desire of obtaining a Federal Badge, he one day wrote a letter to the president at that time, Richard Nixon, while The King was headed to Washington offering his services as an agent at large because he knew that he had the power and fame to get pretty much everything. So you can tell that he could easily fake a death with the power he had in the Federal Government. Gail Brewer took a copy of Elvisââ¬â¢s letter to Nixon and a copy of his death certificate and by comparing the writings she claims that Elvis wrote his own death certificate (see pictures at the end). Monty Nicholson asked himself that if Elvis faked his death, he would have need money to support himself. So he went to research his question and found out that three months before Elvis died, he cashed in three life insurance policy for two million dollars, shortly after his death there was a private checking account with an excess of one million dollars that mysteriously disappeared and there is still a remaining insurance policy that remains to be cashed. By the years, there were more sightings of The King. Gail Brewer received a phone call from a nurse saying that a man that looked identical to Elvis Presley entered the hospital to visit Muhammad Ali. The King and Ali were very close friends back then. The day Ali left the hospital, a picture was taken, him leaving with three men and the last one on the back was the guy that looked exactly like Elvis, or maybe it is him (see picture at the end). And lastly, the most recent rumor is about a mysterious man named Jon Cotner and many say that he is The King. He sings the same, he looks so much like Elvis and one more important detail and is that he talked like Elvis Presley. There have been many Elvis impersonators over the years, many could mimic his singing, but none can mimic his heart. The way Jon speaks is just too similar like The King did when he made jokes and made a fool out of himself during concerts, one thing Iââ¬â¢ve been always sure is that no one could be as cool, smooth and have the swag like Elvis. Just go and listen to a cover song Jon Cotner made and compare it with Elvisââ¬â¢s song, you wonââ¬â¢t tell the difference. Try ââ¬Å"Canââ¬â¢t Help Falling In Loveâ⬠(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtOr2xPOeeg , Jon Cotnerââ¬â¢s cover/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH9Gw0G52_4 , Elvis Presleyââ¬â¢s live version). In the end, Elvis had many reasons to fake his death. Elvisââ¬â¢s life was in danger. He had recently lost $10,000,000 in an airplane/real estate deal with a California based organization called the ââ¬Å"Fraternityâ⬠that had links to the Mafia. It is speculated that he corroborated with the government to expose the organized crime ring in exchange for protection ââ¬â perhaps in the form of a new life and identity compliments of the witness relocation program. Elvis was a prisoner of his own fame. He had many other reasons to leave his life behind. Because of his incredible popularity, he was the recipient of several death threats, and he was concerned about the safety of his wife and daughter. Sometimes when he wanted to leave Graceland, he would send out look-alikes to distract would be followers. Elvis was also known to ride in the trunk of someone elseââ¬â¢s car to avoid detection. Once, when he fell ill in Las Vegas, he couldnââ¬â¢t get proper medical attenti on because the hospital was overwhelmed by fans. At the time of his alleged death, Elvis was nearing the end of his career. He was 42, his hair was graying, he was grossly overweight, and his voice was starting to weaken. He was going down hill, and he was too proud to go out with a whimper. He would never want his fans to see him in such an unhealthy condition. Elvis had shown a fascination with death on several occasions. In the days leading up to his alleged death he was reported to have visited funeral homes at odd hours of the night with close friends. Was he doing research? Elvis once faked his death by setting up an elaborate shooting in which would be killer fired blanks at Elvis who had a blood pack which he discharged. It was Elvisââ¬â¢s intention to see how the people closest to him would react to his death. Perhaps what he learned convinced him to do it for real. Also, one of Elvisââ¬â¢ favorite books is the spiritual Autobiography of Yogi. One of the central themes of this book is the relinquishing of oneââ¬â¢s wealth and earthly possessions to achieve spiritual oneness. Elvis could do this, as well as address his other concerns of sanity and safety by faking his death and living in exile. Elvis had the means to fake his own death. He is accused of destroying himself with drugs. In reality, Elvis was a pharmaceutical expert. He took a lot of drugs, but he knew what he was doing and was extremely careful. He knew what drugs he could self-administer to create a deathlike state. Further, Elvisââ¬â¢s experience with the martial arts was such that he could slow his heart rate and breathing in order to feign death. Elvisââ¬â¢s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, had once created a new identity for himself. He came to this county as an illegal immigrant from Holland, but through various connections managed to create an elaborate identity complete with a passport, birth certificate, driverââ¬â¢s license, and social security number. He would have known how to give Elvis a second life. In addition to Elvisââ¬â¢s ties to the government through his testimony against the Fraternity, Elvis was known to interact with the President of the United States. He was reported in government documents to use the name John Burrows as an alias when he wanted to travel. Some people believe that Elvis worked for the government as a drug agent. He did, after all have extensive contact with many people in the music business who, as we know, tend to dabble in illegal substance. And, of course, we must allow that Elvisââ¬â¢s connections to the government gave him access to the Witness Relocation Program. Now you can clearly see that Elvis Presley is no doubt alive and is just trying to live in peace and for reasons in which he canââ¬â¢t be blamed; the loss of his mother really made a negative impact in his life, the divorce with Priscilla that what bother this not only was because she was the love of his life but also just because he was ââ¬Å"the great Elvisâ⬠and always had it his way, this time he didnââ¬â¢t. He definitely had no intensions what so ever to keep doing tours and continuing his career when he was so full with depression and disappointment. So he took the only escape option he had to find peace without taking his life; faking it. Will we one day see The King come out one day? Or has Elvis left the building forever and stay hidden? In the end, it doesnââ¬â¢t really matter what the news report says, what investigators say or d o. Whether itââ¬â¢s the truth or not, only one man has the power to end all this conspiracy and that is Elvis Presley himself and one day, the truth will be revealed. They encountered some Natives of countries in their individual explorations and in this essay I will compare and contrast the Columbusââ¬â¢s and Cookââ¬â¢s views of the natives they encountered. Christopher Columbus discovered native people from North America and Captain James Cook discovered them from Hawaii. They both kept journals of their experiences so now we are able to look back and understand their first experiences with Natives. Cook named the islands the Sandwich Islands in honor of one of his sponsors, John Mo ntagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich. This erroneous translation lives on in Owyhee County, Idaho, which was named after three Hawaiian members of a trapping party who were killed in that area. Captain Cook and Columbus were similar in some ways in when they encountered the Natives of the lands they discovered but in other ways were very different. Christopher Columbus was more focused on understanding and getting to know the natives as a whole so they could help the people of Europe or be more people put under the faith of Christianity. America was never the same after Star Trek made its debut that night. The series did not receive the recognition it deserved until it was canceled after only three years and later returning in syndication. However, Star Trek was never an ordinary science fiction program to begin with. Comparison to other programs in this genre is difficult because Star Trek is certainly not an unconventional science fiction program- it is a science fiction program that displays America during 1960s. Sulu, played by George Takei, was the helmsman of the USS Enterprise. Having a Japanese-American appointed in an important rank was certainly a huge step forward. Despite the fact that antagonistic emotions regarding Japanese-Americans ascribed to World War II had lessened remarkably, some unease prevailed as to whether a Japanese-American character would cost the program Indonesian viewers. Gene Roddenberry never considered Lt. Sulu as a token Asian, even when it appeared like everyone was opposed to him giving a major role to minority characters. Lt. Sulu consequently became an vital member of the Enterprise crew. Compared to Sulu, it is unfathomable to envision someone else that could step into this role and play him so well. Lt. Uhura, played by Nichelle Nichols, was a communications officer of the Enterprise. Uhura, whose name means freedom was a Black-African princess from East Africa who was fluent in Swahili, which added a particular appeal to her character. Both Nichols and Roddenberry made sure Lt. While scientists by and large responded with great enthusiasm, ordinary people every bit good as theologists and ethicians instantly and prematurely responded with indignation. The job with cloning is non that it is incorrect or unethical, but the fact that the general population has been misinformed and frightened about cloning so much that merely the word ringer has a negative intension to it. Many think it would be incorrect to clone a human, and have slapped labels such as immorality or immoral on human cloning. The beginning of people s disgust may come from their visions of a science-fiction monster developed in a Frankenstein type of research lab, a species inferior to us, a universe of worlds wholly alike ( no familial diverseness ) , or Jurassic Park. The fact is, cloning will non take to this, and any spiritual resistance is non steadfastly based. A ringer is fundamentally a time-delayed indistinguishable twin of another ( Vere 1 ) . Identical twins have the same DNA composing, but different fingerprints, as will clones. Some say the cloning is abhorrent or disgusting, yet they don t see indistinguishable twins as repugnant or disgusting ( 5 ) . If cloning is outlawed and made a offense, who is the victim? Cloned individuals shouldn t be the victim merely because they were born with the same DNA as another individual. Human ringers would most likely consider themselves something particular, particularly when they are the twin of a distinguished person ( 5 ) . But there is no warrant that the ringer will be interested in the country that they are expected to, for indistinguishable twins frequently have different involvements. Besides, indistinguishable twins have a 30 % opportunity of being different by intelligence and a 50 % opportunity of being different by personality ( 3 ) , and these people grow up in the same environment . If a ringer is raised in a different environment, as they probably would, these opportunities of being different would likely be greater. Cloning besides will non decrease familial diverseness and go forth us more vulnerable to disease epidemics ( 5 ) . For illustration, it would be many old ages before the universe ringer population is 10,000 people. If the population in 2050 is eight billion, so the per centum of ringers in the universe would be infinitesimal, less than 1 % of 1 % of 1 % ( .0001 % ) . It should besides be noted that even if every individual in the universe was cloned, it would bring forth five billion worlds genetically different ( 5 ) . Some people argue that cloned people would non be given legal rights and could be used as slaves. This statement is absurd. A cloned individual would hold the same legal rights as any other individual. The ringer would be human merely like any one of us, non a sub-human species that would be inferior. One could non develop a ringer to utilize for variety meats and other trim parts. Besides, a individual on the street would non be able to separate a ringer from a of course created individual. Do non fear, the opportunities of a Jurassic Park happening is really slender. After decease, DNA begins to slowly decompose, destructing sections of the familial codification ( 9 ) . Merely a few short fragments of dinosaur DNA have survived the 1000000s of old ages, but non plenty to clone one. Many think that cloning is incorrect for spiritual grounds, but there is scriptural text that prohibit cloning. These oppositions say cloning sums to playing God. But if one thinks about physicians executing bosom and organ grafts, usage of life-support systems, and vaccinums, you can non assist but believe that a physician ever plays God. It should be pointed out that similar spiritual expostulations were one time raised against necropsies, anaesthesia, and test-tube babes. Now, necropsies are platitude, one could non conceive of holding a surgical process without anaesthesia, and test-tube babes are hailed as a approval to infertile twosomes ( World 115 ) . It would merely be a affair of clip before cloning would be widely accepted. And if others still object to cloning they are in no manner obligated to make it, but they must non state others what to make with their ain Deoxyribonucleic acid. Still another statement against human cloning is that it is excessively unsafe and the engineering has non been perfected. These critics are precisely right, the engineering has non been perfected. That is why cloning should still be allowed. It is absurd to put a prohibition on new discoveries merely because it is non absolutely safe ( Vere 6 ) . Thirty thousand people perished on the Oregon Trail, 50 thousand people die in car accidents each twelvemonth in the US, fatal aeroplane clangs kill 100s in a individual accident, and 1000s choke to decease on poulet castanetss each twelvemonth ( 6 ) . Yet people dare non see censoring cars, aeroplanes, or fried poulet merely because the positive benefits greatly outweigh the hazards ( 6 ) . Someday it is even possible that cloning could assist salvage endangered species or convey back 1s now extinct ( Cohen 1329 ) . So what is the chief job with cloning? Is it incorrect because it is unnatural, or the unreal position of a individual would confabulate them as less an person? No. The chief job with cloning is that the populace has non been wholly informed, so they have jumped to a undue decision. The general populace must first larn the facts about cloning before they rant and rave about what is unethical and what is non. Plants Cited Cohen, Jon. Can Cloning Help Save Beleaguered Species? Fitness of character (True to type); e. g. valor is appropriate for a warrior but not for a woman. 3. True to life (Realistic) 4. Consistency (True to themselves) Once a characters personality and motivations are established, these should continue throughout the play. 5. Necessary or Probable Characters must be logically constructed according to the law of probability or necessity that governs the actions of the play. 6. True to life and yet more beautiful (Idealized, Ennobled) Macbeth is a loyal and honest Scottish general and the thane of Glamis. MACBETH The service and the loyalty I owe In doing it pays itself. Your highness part Is to receive our duties, and our duties Are to your throne and state children and servants, Which do but what they should, by doing everything Safe toward your love and honor. (1, 4, 25-30) He was led to sinful thoughts by the prophecies of the witches. Later, he also was thane of Cawdor as same as the prediction by the witches. Macbeth is a very brave and powerful but he did not have much morality. His ambition drove him to slay King Duncan because he wants to fulfill his desire to the throne. First time of his murder, he was not confident to kill the king and he was guilty and very confused to do so. We can see since scene I-II, Macbeth was dominated by his wife. After his first crime, he increased his cruel, he still killed everyone he thought his obstacles. He governed with a tyrant and violence. He became his own boss and started doing his business without consulting with his wife. After his wife death, he was totally alone and nopeless. I nls empnaslzea tne tragic 0T Macoetn slnce ne could not stop nls ambition. He could have enough morality to stop himself to keep on murdering nnocent peoples. In the end of the play, he seemed to be relieved as he could be back as a warrior and went out to fght with the Malcoms troop. Even though, he realized that the prophecies of the witches seemed to be true but he still had not surrender. Macbeth never seems to intend suicide: Why should I play the Roman fool, he asks, and die / On mine own sword? (5. 10. 1-2). He thought that killing himself is ridiculous and decided to go fighting. This make the play full circle as the story opens with the scene of Macbeths victory in the battlefield and ends with his death in war. Lady Macbeth: Macbeths wife. She was a strongly ambitious woman who desired power and position. LADY MACBETH Glamis thou art, and Cawdor; and shalt be What thou art promised. Yet do I fear thy nature; It is too full o th milk of human kindness To have thee crowned withal. (1, 5,) Early scene of the play, she seemed to have more power and stronger than her husband; Macbeth. She forced him to kill Duncan and seize the crown. After the bloodshed began, she became increasingly obsessed with the blood on her hands which no one else can see and always sleep walking because she fell into her guilty and madness. Finally, she committed suicide because of her conscience. Lady Macbeth is the key of the relation between power and gender: her husband implies that she is a masculine soul inhabiting a female body. At one point, she wished that she were not a woman so that she could kill King Duncan by herself whereas Macbeth hesitated to do. So she stimulated Macbeth about insulting his manhood until he decided to do because of prove himself. Shakespeare has illustrated in the play that women could be as ambitious and cruel as men. The Three Witches appeared in the opening scene, they made Macbeth fell into murderous way by elling him to be Thane of Cawdor and later the King. FIRST WITCH All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Glams! SECOND WITCH All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! THIRD WITCH All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter! (1 Their prophecies pushed him to slay Duncan, ordered death to Banquo and Fleance, Lady Macduff and her son as well. The play does not tell us about their true identity; as we know that their appearance look like females but they have beard. Moreover, they are resembled to Fates in Mythology weave the fabric of human lives and then cut the threads to end them. We might question that the witches Just see human beings as their toy and wanted to destroy it by telling their future or it already had determined as destiny. For example; if there was no prophecies from the witches, does Macbeth still murdered King Duncan. And, yet the play does not give us an answer and we can say that this is a smart of Shakespeare. He was betrayed by the original Thane of Cawdor in the early of the play. Then he appointed Macbeth as Thane of Cawdor with all of his trust but finally he died because of too much relied on Macbeth. From hence to Inverness, And bind us further to you. (1, 4, 44) Banquo: the noble generally and loyal friend of Macbeth. Banquo was a witness when Macbeth knew his prophecies from the witches. He also got the prediction from the witches as he would be a King of the Scottish. Banquo had ambitious thought as same as Macbeth but he did not allow his ambition beyond the morality. Although Banquo wanted to process the throne with his sinful thoughts but he did not take an action. Unlike Macbeth, he could not control his morality and passionate with power. His ambition led him to be a betrayer, murder and finally doom in his ends. Banquds character was opposite of Macbeth since the way he acted did not lead him to his downfall. Banquo also appeared as a ghost in late scenes. Macbeth always saw Banquds ghost as he was so guilty to order the death to him. Banquo has differed from Macbeth as his reactions towards the prophecies by the witches. Although he may think about possibility of the prophecies but he was able to control himself and did not start doing wicked things. Fleance: Son of Banquo. He went along with his father; Banquo and could escape when Macbeth ordered murders to kill them. By the end of the play, it did not state about him more such as where he had gone or what he had been doing. It might assume that he would come to Scotland and became the ruler following to the prophecies of the witches. Macduff: A Scottish nobleman. He was a big part of helping Malcolm restored his position as king. He was apparently hostile to Macbeth since Macbeth ordered death to his family. Fortunately, he could escape but his wife and son were killed cruelly so he was willing to get revenge Macbeth. Besides, he was in the prophecies by the witches; only man whom Macbeth must avoid. The fact was revealed in final scene that Macduff was not born regularly; he was born by caesarian section. So he was able to kill Macbeth according to the prophecies. Malcolm: the son of King Duncan. After his father died, he escaped to England where he wished to form his army to restore his throne, kingdom from Macbeth. His position represented as weak and insecure of his own power. We could infer that without helping from Macduff he might not get back the crown. Donalbain: the son of King Duncan Malcolms younger brother. After his father died, he fled to Ireland. Siward: Leader of the English army. He led about powerful ten thousand soldiers to beat Macbeth at the end of the play. He lost his son, Young Siward to Macbeth. Young Siward: The son of Siward, he died from fighting with Macbeth. He represented the belief that nobody who born from the woman could overcome Macbeth. Lady Macduff: Macduffs wife. The scene in her castle illustrated her character which is very contrast to Lady Macbeth. Lady Macduff seemed to not have much role in her family; unlike Lady Macbeth, she could convince and control her husband. Hecate: The goddess of magic. Her character was obscure of the underworld. She could command the three witches to tell Macbeth about his future in afterwards. Lennox, Ross, Menteith, Angus and Caithness: Noblemen of Scotland fighting Macbeth. Porter: The drunken doorman of Macbeths castle. concluslon According to Aristotles theory, Macbeth plot has appropriate length and the state of main character changes from bad fortune to good and reverse again. The plot has a unity; every action involve to each other reasonably and chronologically since the opening, conflict, climax and solution. Macbeth has a complex plot; every event took lace continuously and when they got into turning point, there were changes in sorts of Peripety and Discovery. The plot is completely in itself because only one of the obvious conflicts is the ambition. Besides, the changes and the decision of the main character can arouse audience to be fear and pity. In order for a character to be a tragic hero, the character must not be a saint nor a villain, he should have some virtues, have a tragic flaw, and have hubris. Macbeth meets all of these requirements, and can therefore be called a tragic hero. Work Cited _,Aristotle: Poetics. Aristotle: Poetics. N. p. , n. d. Web. 30 Sept. 2013. Barbara F. McManus. But before the Assyrians and Persians made Kemet their own, there was a final resurgence of culture and classic Egyptian iconography from their neighbors to the south in Nubia, who made this spot their own. Meet the fantastic pharaohs of the Twenty-Fifth Dynasty. Enter Stage Egypt At this time, Egypts decentralized power structure allowed one powerful individual to sweep in and take control, as a Nubian king named Piye (ruled c. 747 to 716 B.C.) did. Located to the south of Egypt in modern Sudan, Nubia was intermittently ruled by Egypt over the millennia, but it was also a land full of fascinating history and culture. The Nubian kingdom of Kush was alternately centered at Napata or Meroe; both sites exhibit Nubian and Egyptian influences on their religious and funerary monuments. Just take a look at the pyramids of Meroe or the Temple of Amun at Gebel Barkal, and it was Amun who was the god of pharaohs. At a victory stele set up at Gebel Barkal, Piye portrays himself as an Egyptian pharaoh who justified his conquest by acting as a truly pious monarch whose rule was favored by the patron deity of Egypt. He slowly moved his military power northward over several decades, all while solidifying his reputation as a pious prince with the elite in the religious capital of Thebes. He encouraged his soldiers to pray to Amun on his behalf, according to the stele; Amun listened and allowed Piye to make Egypt his own by the late eighth century B.C. Unusually, once Piye conquered all of Egypt, he went home to Kush, where he died in 716 B.C. Taharqas Triumphs Piyeà was succeeded as pharaoh and king of Kush by his brother, Shabaka (ruled c. 716 to 697 B.C.). Shabaka continued his familys project of religious restoration, adding on to Amuns great temple at Karnak, as well as sanctuaries at Luxor and Medinet Habu. Perhaps his most famous legacy is the Shabaka Stone, an ancient religious text that the pious pharaoh claimed to have restored. Shabaka also re-established the ancient priesthood of Amun at Thebes, appointing his son to the position. After a brief, if unremarkable, reign by a relative named Shebitqo, Piyes son Taharqaà (ruled c. 690 to 664 B.C.)à took the throne. Taharqa embarked on a truly ambitious building program worthy of any of his New Kingdom predecessors. At Karnak, he built four majestic gatewaysà at the temples four cardinal points, along with many rows of columns and colonnades; he added to the already beautiful Gebel Barkal temple and built new sanctuaries across Kush to honor Amun. By becoming a builder-king like the great monarchs of yore (such as Amenhotep III), Taharqa both established his pharaonic credentials. Taharqa also pressed Egypts northern boundaries as his predecessors had done. He reached out to create friendly alliances with Levantine cities like Tyre and Sidon, which, in turn, provoked the rival Assyrians. In 674 B.C., the Assyrians attempted to invade Egypt, but Taharqa was able to repel them (this time); the Assyrians were successful in taking Egypt in 671 B.C. But, during this series of back-and-forth conquests and tossing out of the invaders, Taharqa died. His heir, Tanwetamani (ruled c. 664 to 656 B.C.), didnt hold out long against the Assyrians, who sacked the treasures of Amun when they captured Thebes. The Assyrians appointed puppet ruler named Psamtik I to reign over Egypt, and Tanwetamani ruled concurrently with him. The final Kushite pharaoh was at least nominally acknowledged as pharaoh until 656 B.C. when it became clear Psamtik (who later expelled his Assyrian patrons from Egypt) was in charge. The World Bank of report (2014), clarifies that Maldives is mainly predominant of tourism products such as floating beds thereby, offering direct employment both directly and indirectly to the tourism industry in the world. By creating job opportunities to the youths who works in hotels and other tourism sectors, the nation improves its economic growth. In essence, in the past one decade, tourism related occupations sustainably helped Maldivian gross domestic product to shoot up to 265 percent. However, the availability of jobs to Maldivian citizens comes with a challenge. Because most of the employment opportunities are concentrated around resort regions, therefore, majority are forced to travel from upcountry to urban centers and such a migration pattern cause strain to urban settlements that already has an influx in population resulting into tension to the economy around town centers. Maldives is not only famous for its natural beauty of green ocean, and sandy beaches, the nationââ¬â¢s employment opportunities in hotels focuses extremely on tourism workforce who are represented by tourism workforce association (Ellis, 2008; Sharpley, 2002). The workforce recommends that the majority of employees earn very little amount of money while living in very poor conditions susceptible to much less production than what is required by nation per capita. In addition, employment opportunity within the tourism industry alone is not enough to sustain the national grid while the country also lacks other alternative mineral resources. Such a result has made poverty levels to remain quite high throughout the nation (Secretariat, 2010). Maldives fishing sector employs almost 25% of the total national workforce. Through the same industry, employees do get deployed into sectors such as packaging, preparation Nhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11671378235865057915noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1014777798006129712.post-62886510406259825462019-11-19T10:49:00.001-08:002019-11-19T10:49:03.710-08:00Writing the Winning Thesis or Dissertation EssayWriting the Winning Thesis or Dissertation - Essay Example The reviser must restate the problem precisely how it comes out in chapter one of the book. The researcher must also have a detailed and precise review of the methodology without exaggeration in repetition. A detailed and precise review helps readers who have not read the chapter containing the methodology part to understand it.However, your chair may approve another organization in a way that pleases the reader. General-to-specific can be sufficient by giving a result first then evidence later, but the writer does not have to represent the details mentioned in the previous chapter. The writer should avoid partisan interpretation at this stage. Writer should also observe great clarity when stating the findings by using word sequence or bullets.Discussing the hypotheses of the study is the most crucial section in the final chapter. Reflection of the findings provides a quick answer to the researcher question that aims at finding the meaning of the study other than the details. Tentati ve answers to study questions provide a solution in determining the content of the chapter. The writer should develop an outline for the chapter. The section contains the researcher insights. Death is initially presented in this poem as a very different character from its usual personification as a malign, scythe wielding spirit. Here, as the poem begins, he takes the form of a charming suitor who kindly stops, and maintains his civility throughout their journey. As we progress through the poem, however, the reader becomes increasingly suspicious that the apparently benevolent Death has not, in fact, got Dickinsons best intrests at heart. The fourth stanza marks the change in tone that reveals this; the onset of ominous chill as the carriage passes into darkness highlights how unprepared Death has left her, providing no warning of what is to come. The nervous tone that the poem adopts in this stanza is created both by the breakdown of the previously iambic rythmn and the language of cold shivers that the poet uses; both of which emphasise the quivering nervousness of the unprepared. Dickinsons physical lack of preparation for the afterlife in the poem, her donning of gossamer and tulle for a journey into the night, reflects her lack of spiritual certainty in the real world; something reflected in several of her poems. Despite an upbringing filled with much gesture from the pulpit, doubt, not absolute faith, is the subject of much of her work. She remains steadfast only in her belief that This World is not Conclusion, as while she is confident in the existence of something more, the nature of the afterlife baffles her. This poem is also an exploration of an unusual view of death, as Dickinson inverts the normal metaphor of Death as the end of a journey into Death as a journeys beginning. Life, in this poem, is extrodinarily transient, compressed into the third stanza where childhood, the ripening Grain of middle age and the setting sun of old ages decline are ploughed through in four lines. The poet makes this already short liftime seem even less substantial by the anaphoric use of We passed, which increases the pace of the poem and gives the passage of time an inevitable feel. Where the poems journey of death concludes is unclear, but we do know that there is a pause, perhaps a terminal pause, at a house in the ground. Dickinsons use of imagery here is ingenious, as the readers initial confusion mimics the narrators, until we too surmise that this abode, this swelling in the ground is a grave, thought of only by the deceased as a house. The repetition and ryhme of ground at the end of two lines in this stanza gives it a pounding finality; suggesting perhaps that this, and not the expected Immortality, is to be Dickinsons final resting place. This unexpected turn causes the confusion that the image of the house parallels, and explains the last stanza, in which Dickinsons fear of perpetual existence in a grave has centuries feeling shorter than the day / I first surmised the Horses Heads / Were toward Eternity. The poem is, in fact, unclear, but I would suggest that the grave is to be Dickinsons final resting place; that the carriage paused not because it intended to go on but instead because the narrator has not yet realised her fate. The final dash of the poem, therefore, represents not continuing doubt as it does in This World is not Conclusion. but serves to remind the reader of the unending nature of Dickinsons internment. In light of this, the first stanzas Immortality may seem out of place, but its rhyme with me perhaps reveals its origins, as the narrator is consequently so strongly linked with its presence that we may imagine it is only Dickinson, and not Death, that welcomes immortality to the carriage, and that it is, in fact, only there as a result of her preconceptions. Because I could not stop for Death ââ¬â is perhaps, as a result, quite a cynical poem, making no promises of salvation or a Christian heaven. It, in some senses, continues a trend set by This world is not Conlcusion. and Behind me ââ¬â dips Eternity ââ¬â; a trend of diminishing confidence: Dickinsons once absolute faith in a world beyond our own develops into a confused fear at the nature of the afterlife; it may be a Maelstrom in the sky, surrounded by Midnight, or perhaps just a house in the ground. All this confusion is the product of Dickinsons upbringing; the Tooth that nibbles at the soul is a doubt that was to Puritans damning, and once she admits to herself its existence her future is uncertain and heaven perhaps inachievable. Despite its bleak outlook however, the poem still stands a facinating exploration of the nature of the next world.
